Perseverance, Determination and Commitment

So often I talk about the importance of certain virtues or character traits that we have. Virtues are gifts we are born with. They are like “spiritual muscles” which we are here in this world to develop. We develop them throughout life as we are guided and inspired by our parents, grandparents, teachers, friends and many others. There are also many times we don’t believe very much in ourselves, the thoughts in our minds are not positive and encouraging.

Choices

Posted by Mrs. W. on Feb 27, 2011

A choice is when you get to think about and consider all your possible options then choose the one that is best for you AND others. It’s important to take the time and think about the options and the consequences of each one. It is also important to consider if you make a choice, how might make someone feel.

Once you have considered all your options, make a choice that is truly the best one for you and for the others involved. Doing this is respecting yourself and respecting others.

When we make responsible, caring choices that we are accountable for, we feel really good about them.

Think of a time you made a good choice you were proud of and that made you feel good about it. What happened…? The more we learn to make choices in this way, the better it is for us and the other people involved.
